Hi everyone,
Here is a picture of NGC1999, which stands South of the M42/M43 couple, in the Orion constellation !
This picture is full of HH objects (Herbig-Haro), big jets from forming stars... We have an labeled version here: http://www.atacama-photographic-observatory.com/photos/0098_ngc1999_a.jpg
I think we have here something close to the real carmine red, don't you think ? ;)
