A dim and mysterious HII region. There's a bigger version on Astrobin: http://www.astrobin.com/full/321205/0/

Constructive criticism appreciated as always.

Very nice image but a lot of red for me looks like fire but still looks good after hall they are dragons.

Very fine in both senses. Beautifully done. Reminiscent of parts of the Vela SNR, where there be dragons.

Thanks, Martin. There is a lot of Ha! Almost no Oiii and a small amount of Sii...

Thanks, M&T!

Nicely done Rick.

It looks like a Supernova Remnant.

Greg.

Thanks, Greg. I have found a couple of sources that say it resembles a SNR but nobody willing to say it definitely is one. There's almost no Oiii which seems unusual for a SNR.

That's a unique, rather beautiful and intriguing image Rick, nicely processed mate, the filaments are very 3D

Ta Mikey! Most of the credit goes to SH2-114 for being so photogenic but I did try to bring out the best in the data.

Here's the tiny quadrupolar planetary neb, Kn 26, in SHO palette and upsized somewhat. It's only a tiddler at about 35 x 80 arcsec in size.

Huh! Spotted that in the full res but in OIII dominant process (?) it looks more like a PN now

You're putting together some really unique images of late Rick. I really like the emphasis on the sharp edges of the shock waves. Lovely colour too which looks very much how film images once looked.

Thanks, Dunk... I think

Lots of Ha and a little Oiii and Sii but I tried to make it look a little less green.

Thanks, Paul!

Ta, Alan. Missed you at Astrofest. Hope all is well...

Oh man, that's intense! And i really like it.
I thought you might have blown the fine detail, but the hi-res put paid to that idea. In fact it hi-liights the filamentary structure in that brightest part on the right.
Star colours are good too.
Very nicely done.

That's exquisite, Rick.

Looks similar to a tiny part of the Vela SNR. Perhaps post snr shock waves are prone to dracogenesis.

Thanks, M&T!
