Hi everyone.

Found a pair of Don 12x50 binoculars at the mother in law’s.
Still have the box and case and has made in Japan on the body. Anyone know anything about these binoculars, who made them and sold them here.
And would anyone know who can service them.
Thanks

Probably cheapie Chinese-made and rebranded for someone locally, given the boomerang and kangaroo.

12x means they will be a bit hard to hold steady.

If you really want them serviced try asking Bintel but the cost is likely to be more than they’re worth. Personally I’d buy a pair of modern 7x50...

Try them and see how they go. Main requirement is clear lenses and a flat field of view. My old bins are 12 x 50 and are brilliant for astro, better than the $260 Olympus 10 x 50's I thought I had replaced them with.

Hi Brent

Lens looks clean just a mild bit of mould on the prism on one side, I've just email roger about them, will see if they are worth getting serviced.
