Just a thought...

I am a newcomer at IIS, so maybe this is a dumb idea.
But it might be a way to learn from the more experienced, and see the results of using different techniques and equipment.

Anyway the idea is:

On a 3 monthly basis.

At the start, one of the more experienced picks a target.
Example might be M45 or M8 etc (something we can see Sth. Hem).

You get 10 weeks to put in your submission (new forum required? maybe '2018 1st quarter target challenge').

Include full acquisition details?

You can use any data that you have ever personally acquired.

Then all IIS members get one vote to decide the winner (contributed or not) over the last 2 weeks (using a poll??).

The winner gets to choose the next target.

Might be a headache for the admin team, but it could be fun :)

Yep, we've had these types of Challenges many times in the past.
Mike (Iceman) used to run the original Deep Space Monthly Imaging Challenge years ago (from 2005).
Then a few others ran various iterations on this theme.
DavidTrap was running it last time I remember around 2010 onwards.

You're welcome to run it if you're willing to give it a try.

Keep it simple with a monthly challenge on a couple of targets.
