I thought we'd made our point to the Chinese suppliers that these filters are unsafe and should be removed from sale.
Now they seem to be back!!

You can help save the sight of some poor child or novice by posting this message on their link:

These sun filters which fit to eyepieces have been found to be unsafe and could cause serious eye damage.
In a telescope, the solar energy is concentrated onto the filter and can cause it to crack or shatter.
These should be withdrawn from sale.

Good catch, Ken.

I ended up finding 5 listings for these. I reported them all. One of them had a review field, so I gave it one star and pasted your text in there.

Item numbers:

132320937033
142519946237
172858141606
322783729720
332362447571

To quickly report all of the above to eBay:

In eBay, bring each of these item numbers up by placing them individually in the search field. Open each of them briefly.

Then go in to Help and Contact, which is at the very top of each page.

In the Help Topics field, type "Report an Item." Proceed, and the next page should give you a blue button that says Report an Item. Click this, and the item numbers you were just looking at - complete with images - should be front and centre.

Click the first one, and it will take you to the next page. Click the Report button again.

From the drop-down menus, I listed them as:
1. Prohibited and Restricted Items
2. Hazardous Materials
3. Other

The you can submit. Once it takes you to the confirmation page, simply go back a couple of pages in your browser, and click on the second item, and so forth.

Hopefully if enough people do this, eBay will actually take note.

Thanks Shane.
If we all respond along the same lines, we may finally get these filters banned from sale - on eBay and elsewhere.
