Persevered through thin cloud on Thursday to get some LRGB data on 47 Tuc - was keen to play with my new ASI1600MM-C camera on a real target rather than mucking round indoors setting it up and/or doing brief tests between the clouds that the new purchase has caused (sorry!).

100 x 1 min of luminance and 20 x 3 mins each of RGB. Probably should've reduced the exposures about 30% or so (or taken some additional shorter ones) as the core is a bit saturated.

My first LRGB image, as have used an OSC up until now, so be kind!! :thanx:

Excellent, Paul. The peripheral stars are pin-prick sharp. Letting the centre burn out is completely legitimate because it helps show the outermost stars without losing the signature super-bright, super-condensed core.

The colours are subtle but good. Very well done indeed!

Good start to mono Paul.

You can get away without L for globs by the way. Might be worth a go but it’s a great image as it is

Good one Paul. I found with 47 Tuc that I needed to reduce the exposure to 30 seconds.

While some core seperation might be an added bonus, I do agree with M&T Paul.

good stuff Paul - clean and clear.

If you want to get more dynamic range without drowning in short subs, you could try reducing the gain a bit - for this type of target you could try dropping the gain to maybe 50, which will give you ~5x the headroom before the stars saturate.
