I have been experimenting over time the different ways of doing a Milky Way panorama.

I like this approach as its quite practical and I have worked out a reliable processing workflow.

This is 10 panels of 5 images each, aligned and stacked. Lightroom for preprocessing then aligned and stacked in PixInsight then Photoshop for final colour.

Sony A7r2, Zeiss Loxia 21mm F2.8 lens.

The Milky Way is in a good position right now being just past the zenith after dark so I'll be doing some more this weekend.

Looks good Greg .I was hoping to get out tonight with the Sigma 14mm but all clouds here and no rain.Thought this may interest you I just had two PCB boards one the main one with an internal battery replaced in my 1DX Mkii under warranty.A quick professional response and hopefully no further problems as this is a great low light camera.

I am glad your camera is back and up and running. I have heard the 1DX is good.

Thanks JA. I hope to do some more over the next few nights.
