Hi all,

I thought I'd share my upgrade from the standard Saxon one speed focuser to a 10:1 focus ability with a Lacerta upgrade kit.
I decided to forego a more expensive complete replacement and went with a replacement two speed knob and spindle (currently 65 British pounds + postage).
I got it at 365Astronomy in the U.K and it arrived within three weeks, and took around an hour to install (BTW I have no affiliation to the company or the product). The instructions were slightly out of date in that it comes with a new shaft, so you need to take that out first in order to replace the friction pad, but apart from that installation was straight forward.

It appears to be well made with no slop and feels smooth (although I have not had it out under the stars yet), but I get the feeling it will be a good improvement.

Cheers Tim.

I agree - a good upgrade if you don't want to spend $$$ on a moonlite or FTf.
Plus Zoltan at A365 is very helpful.
