Shot with my Sony Alpha a58 and a Tamron 90mm 272E. I have got the Sony nicely dialed in at 3.2 seconds, F/2.8, a custom white balance of 4800K and ISO 3200. This is an 11 frame stack with 4 darks and two bias. In about a month I'll be purchasing the Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer Motorized Mount, Wedge and assorted goodies.

I still have a long way to go but things are improving.

Thanks, and I am. Who would have thought that a macro lens and an entry level DSLR could capture shots like this.:)

Interesting mount.
Your next mount will double, then double for the next, double for the next.
Looking forward to your results and impressions

Oh no, I'm a minimalist. A camera, a lens and a good tracking mount. With visual ob serving i was happy at 8".

Good for you.
You have got me thinking...makes a lot of sense.
I will be interested to see how you go.

Me too. i have dark skies with a good southern exposure and a so so north-east view. I managed the M110 and about half of the M400 in a 4.5 inch reflector. So far my camera and macro lens combined with some decent pp are giving me better views. time will tell.
