I am considering a small 80mm FPL-53 Triplet APO for wide field imaging. It reduces to f4.74 with a reducer/corrector which i already have for my larger APO. My question is, what is a good CMOS camera choice to match this scope? For simplicity, and time savings, i am thinking of a colour camera. Given the scope speed maybe a non-cooled colour camera would be a workable choice. Any recommendations? Budget sub $1500 if possible. Would consider a DSLR, but prefer a full spectrum astro camera for compact form factor, low weight, and camera would be used for astro only.

It is a fantastic sensor, much better than the ASI1600 but doesn't come in mono.

Cheaper but still nice alternatives could be QHY 163C or 165C.

The QHY163 is the ASI1600 alternative.

Another possibility may be to get a second hand QHY8/10/12. Higher read noise than the latest CMOS sensors but that just leads to longer subs if you're willing to go for that.

Alternatively you could get a Nikon D5300 which has the same sensor as the QHY247 but only goes for about $550 new.

I could get the IMX071 sensor in the ASI071C for a little more ($500) budget.

The QHY247 is out of my reach.

I will look at the Nikon.
I could sell some stuff to increase my budget.

Just to close this out, i went ahead and bought a Nikon D5300 body. I will be researching what lense i need for general duty and Milky Way wide field duties.
