Hi all, (its me again! :D) I am about to buy an ST80 as a guider, but my clamshell only has a single mounting point (screw). Is this sturdy enough to mount an ST80 to and use for guiding? suppose i could find a large washer to prevent it from moving?
:question::thanx:

Mount your ST80 in the dual guide rings, mount those to a dovetail and screw the dovetail to the clamshell.

Better still, buy this: http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=156352

Farn less flex issues etc. Then all you need is a guide cam.

The ST80 is NOT the best way to go.

Isn't more FL better? And how would I mount that to the clamshell? Also I have a guidecam already.

I reckon the best way to mount it would be to use an OAG instead. ;):D

Second that.

But seriously, the ST-80...well, you'll see. Invest in extra drawtube spacers cause you'll need a few (and they don't come with it)

One of these http://www.admaccessories.com/product/tgad-tandem-guiding-aiming-device-altaz-aiming-device-for-side-by-side-systems/

There are other smaller ones on the ADM website.

https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/products/accessories/finder-and-guider-scope/ would this be a good guidescope?
