Hello to all

More recent work i have done on the Helix Nebula. I still need to add more subs and much longer exposures on 0III and Ha. Work in progress.
Once again this was done on the 508 plane wave with 200-300 second exposures in BRGL and Ha.
Stacked and post processed using FITS Liberator and GIMP

Nice Sam. Are you shooting from light polluted Delhi or elsewhere?

Haha...Astronomy from Delhi....actually i regularly hold sidewalk sessions for the public at my local park and we get to see quite a lot. Much to my surprise the atmosphere, when not too polluted which is not very often, is reasonably steady and quite ok for planetary work. I have in fact photographed M42 and more amazingly visually observed Andromeda during an astro club gathering in the city center some time back. The Helix nebula you see here is taken using a telescope located in northwestern NSW Aust. However, when i am conducting astronomy camps in India I usually head to a wonderful locality at 2500m in the Himalayas Chail)https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/101096715632612092773/album/6274374972205484497/6274374983057411714. From there the skies are simply amazing.

Thank you for your kind message....I always look forward to my visits to the Himalayas. For many of the people who attend to my Astrocamps there, its the first time they have seen the milky way. It never fails to impress.
