A bit hard with the MW straight up so the bow is a bit harder to capture. Later on it will be easier.

Greg,

I love the beautiful foreground composition.

Thanks Joe. The bow is a bit distorted, I think a lack of shots. But I will have another go to see if I can get it to display better.

Its a great spot but only accessible by 4WD as the road is washed out and virtually impassable. To travel it at night adds to the fun! It was completely silent there.

Here's another one of 6 images sky is tracked and the landscape is not.

That's really nice Greg! I take it you took some of the photos before sunset unless your camera can take 30s shots with the sun in field :P

Hehe that's the moon setting
It does look like a sunset though.

Oh haha
I had originally considered the moon but though "na, it wasn't in that spot at the right time for that last night"

Very nice Greg! Moon illuminates the foreground nicely.

Yes it does. I was lucky that there was a setting crescent moon at the time. I can see why nightscapers want that bit of low moon to light up the environment. It makes quite a difference.

I am still refining my techniques for nightscapes. I took a lot of data that weekend with nightscapes. The good thing about my large telescope is once its running it does not need my attention for several hours. So I was free to do nightscapes.
