The topic this month is: "Black & White"

This thread is only for posting your entry along with any comments you'd like to make about your own photo.
If you would like to comment on other entries, or have any "other" shots, then please use the Comments and Rejects Thread -> HERE (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?p=1304200#post130420 0).

Remember, one entry (one image) per person and the image must be your own work.
Normal forum rules and image size applies.

The image doesn't necessarily have to be taken this month, but we do encourage it, so you get out and get into it and enjoy the challenge.

The winner of the public vote, which will be run at the end of the month, will get to choose next month's topic and have their photo added to our "Photo Challenge Hall of Fame" thread.

Good luck!
Good Shooting! :camera:

These irrigaters crawl across the local farm landscapes from Spring to Autumn, and always put me in mind of either an insect, or a skeleton of some pre-historic monstor.

The boats in the wharf at Port Fairy.
Taken during our family trip over Easter. (for some reason this has posted darker than the saved file I had, can hardly see the stars - better check that out!)

Hi Guys, I do have a Black and White image of Halleys Comet.

Yea, I know it is not recent, however it was taken on Hypered IX 400 Film, that i used to get from a place in Mt Duritte, I think.

Taken and processed in my then dark room, back in March 1986.

Lone firefighter "blacking out" a section of track after a bushfire that destroyed over fifty houses. Blacking out (i.e. hosing down the terrain to prevent sparks from getting into fresh fuel and re-igniting the bushfire) is a major part of firefighting work, although the news pictures naturally always show the drama of the flames. Working in smoke can be as dangerous as attacking the flames due to the potential for lung damage and the ever present danger from falling trees and branches weakened by the fire.

This one was taken by myself... late last year. ISO 100, f/11, 25 Second. At about midnight.
