Thunder rare in Cairns Ian? I though you would have them more than us. I still would like some good sparks, but too many clouds even for them at the moment.

My Pentax has a ir setting but it's not a true ir just processing but still looks good , like you say the sky and clouds look ominous
Ps waterfall's come out good

I can see why you like these .I have been thinking about converting an older camera but there are a lot of IR options.
