Hi All
I have not had much experience with ether the William Optics ZS 80 II ED or Saxon ED 100 so I will ask the panel; I am thinking of trading my new William Optics ZS 80 II ED for a 2 year old Saxon ED 100, do you think it is a good idea
Confused

Hi Vars, :welcome: to IIS.

There's a few WO owners around here, and a few Saxon ED80 users - not sure how many ED100 users there are. Hopefully they'll be able to answer your question.

g'day vars :hi:

i found someone on another forum who was tossing up between a 80mm and 100mm ed. it comes down to the 100mm collecting more light really. the 100mm also has a longer FL i believe which might make it ok for planets too.
you can read more here (http://southcelestialpole.org/scpBB/viewtopic.php?t=1964). :)

hope it helps

hi Vars, having owned both scopes there is no way that l would swap an ED100 no matter how old for a ZS80 both fine scopes but the ED 100 is a lot more versatile and better optically.
