Hi guys...

I was a member of IIS previously but have not been active for a couple of years and have forgotten my old log-in details. So this is my new account.

My name is Davin, I've been an amateur astronomer for about 12 years using my 12-inch GSO dob. Unfortunately it hasn't seen any use for a couple of years but I'm hoping to get back into it now I have my license and can take it out to somewhere darker than suburban Blacktown (just need a car big enough to transport it).

I'm looking at investing in a more mobile grab-and-go setup with entry-level astrophoto capabilities if anyone has any suggestions??

I'll also be on the hunt for observing sites within about 1.5 hours drive of Blacktown if anyone can help??

Is there any WSAAG members in here?? I'm looking at joining a club and not sure if they're still active. If there's any current members I'd love to get in touch and find out how to go about joining up.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Davin

WSAAG can be found here (http://www.wsaag.org/) and judging by this (http://www.wsaag.org/index.php/club/club-and-member-highlights) they are quite active. :)

Howdy Davin,

Tony Barry writing. I'm one of the WSAAGers. Yes we are still alive, the weather has us down but not out. Clouds must part eventually :-)

We have a calendar on the website:-

http://wsaag.org

which will let you know what's on.

You might wish to drop in to the Penrith Observatory's Family Viewing Nights where we assist with telescopes and education. The next one is at the end of January.

Regards,
Tony Barry
