Hi all, I am in the market for some 36mm NB filters. The king is the Astrodons 3mn jobs but looking at $1000 a pop for these. The ZWOs can be had for under $300 (7nm). Anyone with experience with ZWO nb filters? Are they any good?

Cheers
Brett

Have a look at the Baader Narrowband filter sets from Teleskop-Express. I use the 36mm unmounted Baader NB set with my ASI1600MM-C and QHY filter wheel. They are parafocal, so i rarely have to refocus. And as a set they are very cost effective.

Thanks Glen, these are not much more expensive than the ZWO. Any opinions on what would be the better product. (For SBIG STT8300 camera)

Well i have not compared them but Baader has been making filters for a long time, where as ZWO is fairly recent camera making company - mainly. It is your decision. Perhaps looking at the spectrum pass chart for each would help and find out who makes ZWO filters.

Yeah I'd want as close to 100% tranmittance as possible, ZWO claims 80% My filters are relatively wide, if I'd done my homework I would have got the Baader too.
