Wider Angle 11mm

Thought this may interest some .Pics taken with the canon 11-24 at 11mm wide open at f4. I used the 5ds here but will try the 6D when time permits.Pics are minimally processed in Picasa. Overall there seems to be very little coma in the corners.Only thing that being f4 you have to crank up the ISO compared to the Sigmas.I purchased this lense more for landscapes but thought i,d give it a shot .It will be interesting to see what Sigmas new 12-24 version shows when pointed at the night sky.On a different note the raw file from the 5Ds and 11mm was over 70mb.I just used the jpegs with in camera NR on.

That's a bit satisfying Derek.
Have been looking at wide zooms, and can't decide which way to jump. Although the Tokina 12-28f2.8 gets a fairly good review, and I'll be interested in the Sigma you mentioned. Though anything over f4 is not so desirable

David it is private property but as they are my neighbours they don,t mind.It is getting harder to access properties up here in NE As farms are becoming smaller as real estate prices grow.I am lucky as this windmill is only 500m from my front door.The location is Wooyung.
Trev the Tokina does seem a good buy as well.At f4 you really have to push the ISO to get most out of the dark so to speak.I would wait for a reveiw on the Sigma but my main worry with them is they are not as moisture resistant as the Canon lenses so extra precautions are needed with heavy dew.

The Samyang 14 also is a good performer. 14mm f/2.8.
