Last night at the Australian Pro Photo Awards gala dinner in Melbourne, I was thrilled, delighted and totally gobsmakked to win this award for the second year in a row!
Image details with high res links below -
17,000 light years distant, NGC2467 is an extremely active stellar nursery. Large clouds of glowing hydrogen and ionized oxygen gas, invisible to the naked eye incubate the continuous birth of new stars. 14hrs exposure over four nights, using 5nm narrowband filters

The Lagoon Nebula, 4000 light years distant. A giant interstellar cloud three times the size of the moon. Within this star-forming region is a tornado-like structure caused by an O-type star heating and ionizing gasses within. 11hrs exposure, using 5nm narrowband filters

9000 light years distant, The Statue of Liberty nebula's shapes are formed by stellar winds from stars born in dark, dusty regions of space. As young stars start to shine and disperse their surrounding cocoons they create swirling clouds of gas. 20hrs exposure, six nights using 5nm narrowband filters.

6,000 light years distant, The Running Chicken Nebula spans approximately 100 light years. A cloud of glowing Hydrogen and Oxygen gas illuminated and shaped by interstellar winds from newborn stars within. Alongside at left lies the Pearl Star Cluster. 30hrs exposure, five nights using 5nm narrowband filters.

Thanks for looking and all your feedback, both positive and constructive along the journey to date :)
Cheers
