If this place isn,t on your bucket List then it should be. I had hoped to get more night shots but it was extremely windy with a fair bit of cloud.I think May may be a better option for Milky Way shots there.
This Island has something for everyone An interesting note was the Transit of Venus Plaque on Transit Hill.
Pics taken with a 6D(Various Lenses) an Olympus TG and a Sony Rx1r.

Just magic Al. Reminds me of up here when I was a kid before the Byronisation of the area.

Nice series of photos Derek, with a surprising amount of blue skies for the cooler months.:)

I assume you flew out of Sydney on the QANTAS link? Did you get good views of the mountains as you landed?

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks Dennis .Yes the clouds cleared on landing and the aerial view was fantastic. We flew out of Sydney as flights out of Brisbane are fewer over winter months. It was quicker for us to go Gold Coast Sydney than drive to Bribane.

It'd be great to see some more full size pics Derek. It looks absolutely wonderful. I've been to Norfolk Island and would love to get to Lord Howe Is sometime before I snuff it!

I'm guessing it's quite an expensive place to stay. Do they have tourist quota limits like Norfolk?

Paul it's not as pricey in early spring or late Autumn and their quota is 400 tourists.Prices vary depending on accomodation types.I use Oxley travel who would be able to give you a better scope of times and packages.
