Picked this up today, originally made in Adelaide, only commercial part is the tube and primary mount (and the primary mount may be a replacement for something else). Story is the builder left school very early and survived by selling Kero (would this be early 1900' ?), he moved on to making and selling Kero tins and ended up managing the machinery side of a large tyre manufacturer in Adelaide. If he wanted something he preferred to make it rather than buy it, he also made model trains (must have been a good bloke :) ) . He has long since passed as has his son, no one else in the family wanted it so now its at my house.

Ha, that funny. I saw the offer on Gumtree about 2 hours ago and thought if I lived in Canberra, I would take that!

It looks like an interesting item of equipment!

Hey Roger,
Checked that jobbie out earlier in the week, but gave it a miss. Its a very special piece, some much home made kit just felt like it had a life of its own and would tell a great story.

It is not really in a state to be usable but if I had the room it would have been good as just a talking point.

Did you get the second finder scope which had the camera lens up front? It still has the aperture blades in it.

The lady I was talking to said the guy use to take photos of the side and that she still had a few kicking around somewhere in the garage.
