Hi all,

Quick question. I have a Meade LX90 that has served me well for many years. I recently bought (thanks to some birthday money) an AZEQ6.

My question is, given the EQ6 does both EQ and ALT-AZ should I de-fork my Meade. And if so should I do it myself or give it to a professional (like Bintel)

Thanks in advance,

Rene

De-forking the Meade is pretty straight forward.....
You'd need a dovetail, either a Vixen or Losmandy type to fit the OTA to the EQ mount.

Why? What will you gain? If the LX90 is accurate and reliable I cannot see the point IMHO.

I deforked mine. Onto an eq6 with a sw102achro guider. Magic for imaging small stuff and with a reducer good for a lot of stuff.
