Seen these on ebay
I've not read many reviews on them so not sure if they are as good as the blurbs.
Anyone know any background info for these?
Apparently they are a triplet APO only let down by its focuser.
Anyone know if they are any good for the price?

Have you read this?

http://www.cloudynights.com/topic/470076-visionking-80mm-ed-tripletebay-scam/

Things may have changed since July 2014 but I'd still be very wary. Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean the scopes are bad, but be careful who you buy from.

Yeah I read that, it was more about the fly by nighters who were scamming by making false ebay ads. The company has been around for a while.
I just want to know if the scopes are any good.

What I find rather strange [if I remember correctly] is that the achromats
have tube rings and dovetail and a carbon fibre OTA, while the APOS have
aluminium OTAs and a simple tripod attachment.

:) I think that these are made by LP ? The. 90mm f5.4 model look alot like the 90mm f5.4 AP0 ???? That Andrews were selling a few years ago , I grabbed one but was disappointed that it was an achromat , not an APO as advertised :welcome::shrug: .
A very good achromat tho and very well made, a nice scope but my ED80 was much better CA wise .

I would not mind trying out one of those VK 90mm f5.4's good price and the advertising looks more honest, sorry to say.

Check Stargazers Lounge out , these seem to be readily available in England sold by FLO ,( first light optics , Englands Bintel ) and there are a few threads there on these VK scopes , 65 , 80 and 90mm versions and these get quite a good rap over there.

Hope this helps.

Brian.
