Hi everyone.
Got to try my new to me NP101 last night. Although I got it early January, the Stellarvue M2 mount only arrived yesterday. Combined with 100 degree 20mm Explore Scientific eyepiece it was the most amazingly satisfying experience I had in my last 6 years of visual observing.
The field was wide, very wide and flat as can be. Every star a precise pinpoint right to the edge. The field stop on the 100degree is hard to find, you have this surreal feeling of sticking your head out of window to take a look. All that from the outer suburbs of Melbourne. Can't wait to take it out to a dark site. Np101 - simply superb.

Hi Tom - I think Pat means "once you start there's no going back" - give it a few years (or months) and you'll own (or want to) two or three scopes and will be lusting after some other new astronomical "toy" - I speak from experience ... it's a wonderful hobby/passion and I'm currently in the throes of buying an 11 acre block to build an observatory on... once you're hooked - look out bank balance !!!...
Seriously though - enjoy your new scope and we look forward to hearing of your voyage of discovery among the stars.
cheers

Lol, thanks Peter. I think this will be my last scope, it seems to tick the most boxes for me.

The NP101 really shines under dark skies. That's when you get to see how truly great that scope is. There are very few telescopes in all of astronomy that can do what the NP101 can with a wide field eyepiece. Happy observing.
