I'll be there with the 25" again.
Might take the Lunt 80mm, but as its my birthday I might be feeling lazy.
Cheers,
Andrew

There's usually plenty of help from the other volunteers from Perth observatory - most of the job with the 25" is trying to encourage people to go and look through the other scopes instead of queuing for 30 minutes!
Most of them say it's worth it though :-)
Cheers
Andrew.

Nice to catch up with a few of you on Saturday night. More than 4000 people turned up for a look through the telescopes. Conditions were quite good, with fairly steady seeing. Generally well behaved although someone managed to knock the altitude encoder arm off my scope early on which threw the Argo Navis off. Once I put it back the scope performed flawlessly all night, and thanks to the Perth observatory guys running their scope next door the queues were only 1hr long for both of them.
Highlight for me was the view through a 6" Lunt H-alpha scope with binoviewer - what a monster of a thing!
Cheers,
Andrew.
