I did have to wait 8 years though. ;)

I'll add some photos once it's mounted on the AP-1200.

Very nice Gavin. Are you going to use it for imaging or visual?

8 years sure is a long time to wait, so long I guess you just forget about it. I see that's about when you signed up for IIS.

Make sure there are no reindeer hairs between the lens elements. You know how sloppily some of these cheap scopes are put together.

What a beauty

Are you sure they didn't mislabel it though? It doesn't look very big ;)

I am so jealous...I think Santa is bringing me a lump of coal! Congratulations, look forward to hearing your impressions.

Thanks everyone for your comments. It actually came early! I was expecting a 10 year wait. It's amazing, and a little scary, how quickly the time goes by.

The intention is to get into imaging. I'm hoping to have more time soon. It's obviously overkill for an imaging beginner but at least I won't be able to blame the tools. ;)

Have you opened up the Cloud compartment yet ? It has a proximity fuse delay, as soon as it gets put on the mount all the clouds pop out... :P

Nice scope though. Nice.

I'm told size doesn't matter although Peter Read would probably disagree. :)

Thanks. Yes, I feel very lucky. Hopefully Roland won't retire for a few years yet.

Santa brought me a 1990 production Takahashi FC-76 today - and EXTREMELLY pleased I am too. All 25 years worth of cosmetic issues rectified in 2 minutes of receiving it!!! (not a scratch - only some rub marks that polished out with a cloth and paste rouge)

It's not the doublet that thinks its a triplet - its the doublet that KNOWS its a triplet :)
