Deciding which way to mount the Sharpsky kit onto the Tak FSQ focuser - to the reduction unit shaft, or the main pinion shaft?

Previous thought had been to mount it to the reduction shaft, but now I see Feathertouch and others going away from this due to possible slip (never noticed any degree of slip with the Tak MEF system) and installing onto the main pinion shaft.

Thoughts?

The Sharpsky collet I have is already drilled 3.5mm for the reduction shaft, but I can easily bore that to the pinion shaft diameter. I'd like to think there would be better precision of focus via the reduction unit, but maybe I am wrong.

Reduction mate. More steps inside the critical focus zone you have the better. I have my motor on a reduction belt drive 5:1 reduction then onto the 10:1 reduction of the newt. 800 steps per single rotation of the 10:1 knob = very fine focus.
