Hi Guys,

I was a member in the past but couldn't figure out my old log-in so I didn't have access to the classifieds (bummer!).

I've had this vintage 6" Newtonian taking up space for the last 12months and decided it's time to move it on. Came across it last year during my adventures as an antique dealer/restorer. I don't know a great deal about it's origins but date it to the 1940's based on similar equipment from known makers.

The mirror is in excellent condition with no fading or signs of tarnishing. It has a glass end cover for some reason (The view is shocking without removing it so it really serves no purpose aside from letting you see inside it without letting dust in) and an interesting brass focuser. It has a non standard eyepiece but with an adapter will fit the old .965 eyepieces.

Heavy well made EQ mount with aluminum setting circles and brass fittings. Timber tripod could use some tightening up but it's quite a sturdy unit as is.

It's currently up for Auction on eBay with a four days to go but I'm open to reasonable offers.

"Stunning and fully functional telescope on an equatorial mount and timber tripod. No maker's name, but believe it dates to around the 1940s. Early brass non-standard eyepiece and focuser design. 150mm mirror with approx. 1100mm focal length. Tube is 200 x 1350mm. Whole unit stands around 1.8m tall.

Available for viewing and pickup at How Bazaar Antiques, 308 Melbourne road North Geelong."
