Well I waited for months for my SX filterwheel and OAG to come plus my filters. Last night I used it for the first time and was pleasantly surprised to see stars in the guide cam !
But I adjusted focus then locked it with the little allen head grub screw (OAG).
After that I found out that my Baader filters were not parfocal so I wanted to adjust the focus of the scope and the OAG again.
Not happy- as using the SX allen key it just stripped the top of the grub screw and now its jammed , precisely the second time I have used the tool on it. This is terrible QC. Plus now I have a jammed OAG.
IS the only alternative drilling it out? (or sending it back? )
This has marred a really good experience with all my kit I have collected since last year finally together on the big frac. ( FLI 8300, WO FLT 132, SX FW, Baader LRGB, SX OAG, Lodestar)and finally LRGB imaging again (hence clouds + rain in Tas today, sorry folks!)
Any advice gratefully received

drilling should always be the last resort graham!
it is very poor form obviously, one did not use a metric key on an imperial head or vice versa? this has caught me out graz
if everything was correct send it back after letting them know of the problem (and your immense discontent)

If it has just rounded the hexagonal hole, the best thing is an ezy-out to back the grub screw out then replace it with a stainless steel one and apply some dry lube to the thread to stop it binding.

Good advice there. Go to a shop that specialises in screws etc and they have a bit that removes stuck screws. Its like a reverse bit with a slot in it.

Greg.

thanks guys- it was the allen key that came with the OAG so I hope it would be the right one!!
will take it a screw shop.If its a simple job will not send it back as have been waiting for soooo long already to get this all assembled -will make a comment on the SX forum however.
