Looking through the iceinspace threads I cant find much talk on making telescopes.
I have spent the past three months reading, studying, note taking and drawing up plans for a 14" to 16" truss tube Dobsonian Telescope. It has been a steep learning curve but an engaging one.
In the process i have had many questions that come to mind that may have been answered by someone out there.
I may in turn have answer for others interested in similar goals.
Just putting it out there. :D
Its a long term project that will take at least 8 months just to save the money for the glass.

Neil, there is a sub-forum for telescope making here on IIS, and also on Cloudy Nights in the US.

As far as Dob building goes I hope you have a copy of David Kriege's excellent book on the subject.

Neil, I've built three plus other DIY projects and they have all been posted up in the ATM & DIY section. Rolf (SkyViking) has posted on 2 very sophisticated builds with links to his website for full details. I think the trouble is they take a while to build and eventually the thread is lost in the history back pages.
I'd suggest you post your project status and updates there and you will get plenty of replies and comments from us all. We're waiting now .... ;)

Cheers
Brent
