After struggling with the blinding brightness of my red LED headlight for a while, I decided I needed a smaller light to read charts by.
Found this at Jaycar:
"Impermeable spotlight" - designed for fishtanks, submersible LED on a cord basically (see pic) - different colours, including red. It would normally run from a 6V DC power pack you can buy for it, but I made up a little battery pack - a switched 4* AA pack soldered to a 2.5mm stereo plug to connect to the light.
All up cost $12...... (batteries not included).....
