I have just become the owner of a second hand Losmandy G11 with Gemini 1 version 4. I now require an AC/DC power transformer and cable of 3amp 18v which has a 4pin DIN output fitting to suit the Gemini. I have spent all of our own dear Queen's birthday on the net trying to find one but apparently the 4pin connector is the stumbling block.
Can anyone advise me where to buy a transformer as described with the correct output fitting or a way to overcome the problem.
I apologise if I have posted in the wrong section of IIS.
Thanks for any replies.

Gemini FAQs for you...Q21 here (http://gemini-2.com/faq.php#Q21). In fact have a good read of all Gemini ! FAQs. Indeed the Gemini 1 Yahoo (https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Gemini_Users/info) and Losmany Yahoo fourms (https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Losmandy_users/info) are also a good places for information.
You can bet pretty much all questions you have have been previously covered. That said, sometimes finding the info can be ....difficult.
The Plug is a Lumberg 013104, Plug DIN 4 way (just leave the lock ring off), RS here (http://au.rs-online.com/web/p/din-connectors/0491015/?searchTerm=491-015&relevancy-data=636F3D3126696E3D4931384E525353 746F636B4E756D6265724D504E266C753D6 56E266D6D3D6D61746368616C6C26706D3D 5E5C647B337D5B5C732D2F255C2E2C5D5C6 47B332C347D2426706F3D313426736E3D59 2673743D52535F53544F434B5F4E554D424 5522677633D4E4F4E45267573743D343931 2D30313526), there are others and Element 14 has these plugs or alternates but RS has free post.
Buy a spare while your at it.;)
edit:
oh I didn't answer the PSU question....any +12VDC ~ =18VDC PSU. The motors run better at 16~18VDC, in fact any voltage above 12V, the system is designed to run up to 18VDC. Some users run on battery just fine but atm I'm using a computer PSU @12V. I personally don't have an issue running mine at 12V but I've just converted a computer PSU to give 16VDC out to run my system.
Maybe a Laptop PSU with ~16VDC out @ 3~ 4 Amps max out would suit. If not Jaycar has PSUs.
edit edit:
Also be careful with the Motor DIN connectors. Ensure you put them on the correct way wrt to the DIN socket and plug key. If you don't, you can put +12V on the motor encoder +5V lines damaging the system motor encoder ICs. Just sayin!

I'm using a lappie power supply to the EQ6. Small, just strapped to the pier side and about 15vdc. Best of all they don't need any conversion or anything, plug and play.
I chuck dozens of them away when we scrap old laptops at work.

Thanks to the two Bs who were so quick to answer my query. Now the awful truth can be revealed. At the bottem of the box containing all the spares which were included in the sale of the mount was the required 4 pin DIN connector and length of cable so all I needed was an 18v AC/DC transformer, that has been purchased today and I now have a lot of dots scrolling across the screen, some of which resolve themselves into words. Now for the next stage. Onwards and upwards.
Once again, thanks for the replies.

Once again Thanks Brendan, but did you really have to include your last paragraph.
I'm scared enough of this great black machine leaning over me like some supercilious wine waiter without being reminded that in an instant I could reduce it to a very expensive puddle on the carpet.

Hi Dave
not trying to scare you at all. But, users plugging in motor cables at night in the dark, can present issues we normally don't appreciate. Even I've nearly done this! This said, your Gemini 1 PCB is repairable to component level with many years or spares on hand. Add to this the Losmandy mounts have upgrade path for component changes....all is looking good for users from the past to the future.
