I've just come in from looking at Eta and Saturn using my Docter 12.5mm..
I am amazed at the sharpness and contrast views it delivers.
This would have to be IMHO the very best Planetary eyepiece I've ever used.

Saturn was soooo clear and sharp.... and bright also....not too hard on the eyes..... rings easily separate from the ' ball ' .... just lovely to behold.

Velvety dark background .... all stars are pin point right across the field when panning around.

Eta filled the whole view with the bright centre star highlighting the Nebula.
This eyepiece is just ' out of this world ' ... 12.5mm @84* degrees.

Scope I was using .... TeleVue SDF 4" Refractor.

Never regretted buying this ' expensive ' piece of German Voodoo.

Ummmm it's probably the best eyepiece you've ever used period. It's the best I have ever used and that covers a very big field. I rate it very slightly ahead of the Nikon NAV HW which has a larger AFOV, but less eye relief making it difficult to use with glasses on.

I told you that before you bought it. I am just glad you listened to myself and a few other people who had used it before and you went ahead and bought it.

Now you just need to get yourself a serious sized telescope so your new serious eyepiece can properly strut its stuff:poke:

Cheers,

Yeah, but such a fine optic would be wasted on something as mundane as a Dobsonian...:poke:

:D ... you have a point there .... use its full potential...!!
Nothing less than a 12" inch ' mirror ' based system you think.

But I do love my ' frac's ' ;)
