Hi all,
I'm nearing the end of my pier build, and it's time to attach the mount to the adaptor.
I dont really want to use the original centre shaft/bolt as its so long, so does anyone know the size of this bolt?
I bought a 12mm course threat which looks very close,:shrug:but after a a couple of turns, it starts to cross thread the hole in the mount. Anyone who has their EQ6 on a pier got any ideas for me?
Thanks.

Hi Goran,
I can confirm my eq6 pro mount has m12 centre bolt. You may need to check the pitch of the threads. I can see 5 thread turns in my one inch nut, don't know if that helps.

It's an M12 x 1.75mm pitch thread.

Thanks for your quick replies fellas.

Ken, I think the pitch is 1.5mm on the bolt which I bought. The other option was 1.25mm which was even worse so I think you may be right. Although to the eye it's real hard to see. I'll see if I can source the other one.

Cheers guys.

Bunnings has them in high tensile packs. I went through the same exercise when I put my NEQ6 on a pier.

I made my own from an eyebolt:

Hi Glen,
Did you have any issue when screwing the bolt into the mount? After a few turns, mine got stuck, so I gave it a bit more and i think I've butchered the thread in the mount head, i'm now having trouble putting the original tripod shaft through.
The ones i bought were from Masters, same type of pack though ( high tensile 2pk ). I guess the thread is different.
EDIT: I just checked the ANSI/ISO specifications for an M12 bolt. And it should be 12mm x 1.75mm. Why o' why do masters sell 12mm in everything BUT 1.75mm pitch?

They look pretty good. Where did you find those ones?

Looks perhaps like you polished them yourself too Kunama?

I bought the 2 eyebolts from Specialty Fasteners at $11.70 each and then cut and filed them down to suit.
