I was out last night with the scope observing the moon when l noticed the 6mm Ethos has a bit of a rattle. It has never been dropped, in fact it has hardly been used at all. Has anyone else had this happen. I have sent an email to televue to see if l should send it in for repair or if they can advise me how to fix it.

My 8mm Ethos was like that I think I just carefully opened it up and snugged up a retaining ring inside, seemed to work.

I have had ep's do that and most were easly tightened from underneath , a ring loosen's somehow

I had a barlow do that. The solution was tightening the retaining ring at the bottom.

the tmb planetaries were struck with this - many of them

with a complicted lens design of en ethos you wouldnt want to take it apart -check the bottom retain ring -if its not that send it to bintel

Well l plucked up the courage and unscrewed the ethos. I unscrewed the 2 inch barrel and yep it was just a retaining ring. I did it up finger tight and put it back together. Thee is no way the lenses come out with all of the retaining rings holding them in.
Still got me fluffed how it came loose in the first place.
