OKay here is what happens when you dont use long enough screws and drop it while working on it.

I have re attached some of the screws and replaced others with longer ones, what a nightmare! One major poo poo is the base screws are now under the ebony star I have just put on....

Andrew, Sorry, :(.. to see your newly completed project in sooooo many pieces...:P
Re; your uprights/side plates??? & the Ebony Star, just make sure that you're far enough away from the Teflon pads.....Oh, & I suggest at least 2 1/2" or 3" x 10 g CSH screws for all joints. Predrill of course....:D L.

Mate... that's tragic :( , hopefully it'll be back in one piece soon.

Note to self: "do not drop dob base!"

If the base is not going to be collapsible (on purpose that is) maybe some liquid nails along the joints to make them permanent.

Look on the bright side, at least your scope was not on it at the time :)

Rob is right. As a carpenter by trade for years I always glued and screwed, or glued and nailed. The screws and / or nails are gust there to hold until the glue sets. If you use the right glue the joints will be as strong as the wood itself.

Look at the bright side.... it didn't fall apart while the scope was on it.

I have now glues it all back together, added some longer screws and in the process of adding brackets to it to hold it further, this thing isnt coming apart on me again, the down side, well it looks like a fankenstien version of the Clone now :)

Okay I have fixed the scope now, the inside had been strengthened quite a bit thanks to a few brackets.
