I went to their website and I saw a pic of the moon in radio wavelength. I didn't know the moon emitted any radio signal. What is the source of the moon's emissions?

The Chinese rover perhaps? Seriously maybe its nothing but bounce back, or reflection from other sources. Is imaging really something that radio astronomy is about or is it just a way to demonstrate a signal pictorially.

I don't like the way it says " your venerable NEq6 Pro, " :P but what a good idea.

Nice that you can use it 'inside' the optional dome, no more cold and dew

$ 13,800 is a bit steep for this antenna etc.

Wonder how the NEQ6 handles this antenna in a gentle breeze.

Signals generated by the moon at 11 GHz or any other frequency for that matter ?

Hi Richard,

Anything which is warm (ie above absolute zero) emits electromagnetic "black body" radiation, including radio/microwaves. You can see my detection of the moon using a simple satellite finder and dish here for example.

I think it just needs any EQ mount with Losmandy dovetail receiver and suitable weight capacity.

It was the 'venerable' bit I was taking exception to ..... :D

Agism !! Hmmmph !!

Dear I In S'ers,

In Stock :)

Immediate shipment available.

Merely place the unit on your Losmandy capable Eq mount's dovetail connection and plug into your PC (with the provided software) and you are operational.

Book on radio astronomy by CEO of Prima LuceLab also available and in stock :)

Clear skies - or with this unit you don't need that, as it's an RT :)

Cheers.

The only thing separating me from one of these is $13,800 plus shipping.

Damn!

Yeah, I just wanted to order it :), but then read Note: Shipment price exclusively on application.
And:
NOTE: SHELL dome not included in radio telescope price.
NOTE: Skywatcher NEq6 Pro not included in radio telescope price.

Hmmm :(

Dear I In Ser's

Need to clear this unit - it is getting in the way.

Must clear these last few units, they simply take up far too much space in my warehouse. Price is now A$5k plus shipment.
Rgds,
