please do not open any old wounds please friends............... the stellarvue and the sharpstar, why would one pay an extra $1300 for the SV over 'tuther?
is it simply and ONLY due to the focusser or do SV get the best figured units, and if so is there evidence over conjecture?

Stellarvue's website states:

"These telescopes are assembled and triple tested one at a time"

and Vic Maris confirms this regularly on the Stellarvue forum.

The basic components may look the same as SharpStar but with Stellarvue you essentially get a guarantee of optical quality.
