Hmmmm
Just reading the manual for the new QUARK Ha system...
The recommended ambient operating temperatures are 40 -100 deg F (5 - 38 deg C)
May be an issue getting it "on band" on a typical Australian summer day....:eyepop::(

Hmmmmm, good chance for a mod to change to Peltier cooler

I've sent an email to Daystar requesting confirmation......
It would be a great disappointment if you spend $1000+ and find it doesn't work in Summer!!!!

Stupid question time...but do these eyepieces (Prominence & Chromosphere) require a ERF?

Hans,
Up to 80mm aperture - OK
80 -110mm aperture add a UV-IR filter
>120mm use a "proper" ERF up front.
Not suitable for reflectors or compound (Petzval) refractors...

Of course that Temp range makes it an ideal here in Tasmanian :-)

Yeah.....but you never see the sun down there ;-)

On a 25°c day here my thermometer is reaching the high 30's on my terrace in direct sun where I have my set up.

Think I'd rather spend the cash and go from a Stage 1 mod to Stage 2.

As a former Taswegian, I take offence at that remark. ;)

Here's the photographic evidence: a nice, sunny day in downtown Hobart ...

I believe it's up to the eaves now and they have had to install a sun roof.
