Hi , I was just browsing the march/april issue of the online mag, 'Astronomy Technology today' and I see Orion has a new mount out , its the , HDX110EQ-G GoTo Equitorial Mount with +/- 3 arc second tracking , nice
They don't give a pay load but it has 2x 10kg counter weights .

Looks like a great new mount from Orion at only $4999 usd with tripod .

Hi Brian, by the looks of it its just a re-baged Eq-8. Makes sense, they both owned by the same mob

:thumbsup: Yes , but it would be interesting the changes Orion have made and if this mount is like Orion's scopes compared to SW's if so there will probably be lots of them ..:shrug: .

I'm going to guess it's identical to an EQ8 except for branding, similar to the EQ6 re-badge.

Orion Dobs are different to SkyWatcher, but they're from a different supplier altogether, AFAIK.

:question: Their Dob's maybe , but most of their refractors are from the same supplier , Synya .
It will have differences .

As I understand Synta owns Skywatcher and Celestron, so I'd guess it's exactly the same with different software.

Yeah, they say "Akromat" on the dew shield.

Synta = Skywatcher = Orion = Celestron

Much the same as:

GSO = Astro-Tech = Bintel = (insert all other re-branded variants here!)
