Anyone trying to catch 2006 DP14 as it goes by?

Nice video Jonathan.
Do you submit video astrometry to the MPC?

Thanks Peter - I'm glad you mentioned that - I was meant to do my astrometric observation tonight and had quite forgotten!

So the answer is yes, but just the coordinates

There we go peter, a few hours work for a couple of indecipherable lines :)

K06D14P n2014 02 11.45972806 09 43.52 -40 14 01.1 12.0 R Q79
K06D14P n2014 02 11.53405806 18 10.00 -37 56 27.1 12.3 R Q79

There was an interesting variation in magnitude from some of the observatories with one even recording 14th! I think that some need a little re-calibration (hopefully not mine).

Actually not so indecipherable for me.
I had noticed the observations for Q79 on MPEC 2014-C54
http://www.minorplanetcenter.net/mpec/K14/K14C54.html
and wondered if that was you (as indeed it was when I checked the list of observatories)
Both NEODys and the MPC seem to show your observations with quite acceptable residuals. Interesting to see what happens when the radar observations are added in.

It's all credit to Hristo Pavlov who had the bright idea of reducing the data from video by field solving multiple frames. His software (Tangra) gives residual results on a par with the professional observatories in many cases, and certainly well within acceptable limits.

Hopefully my next video camera will have significantly smaller pixels and allow for even better results!
