G'day blokes,

I have a couple of quick videos shot with my phone camera that I would like to experiment with killing the sound, adding a bit of music and maybe some flash-looking titles or something.

I have Premiere Elements but it's pissing me off and my old Windows Movie Maker on XP won't recognise the MPEG-4 coming out of my mobile phone.

Any freeware out there that's no-fuss and a bit of fun to play with?

Baz.

There is no really good windows video editor for free, IMO.

Check trial version of Movie Studio Platinum (http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/homestudio). It's not crippled in any way aside from the 30 day limit.

Check out www.snapfiles.com (http://www.snapfiles.com) under the'FREE' tag. I've used a lot of stuff from there and had no problems with bugs or anything. Just read any hints about not installing suggested toolbars etc . There is some good software on there.

You can use HandBrake to transcode your MPEG-4 videos into something thta WMM can recognise:

Thanks guys... and Jeanette. I got it sorted. Found a site where you can upload the MPEG-4 and it emails you a WMV.

Solved.
