6" refractor dew shield removal

tring to unscrew the dewshield from a short tube skywacher -it wont come off, always bring the lens cell with it -can anyone tell me is it supposed to come off? if not i might cut it off & use a flexishield -it makes packing so much longer (adding 30% to scope length)

Daniel is this a generic SW like this one ? , if so the dew shield did not screw off it was held on by felt tabs 4 of them from memory about 25mm long each so it should just pull off .

my bad -it was bloody tight but i got it off -fell backwards pulling it off:ashamed::whistle:

Mine was as tight as a bugger as well first time I tried , I think the glue seeps thru the felt and semi glues the other side .
