Hi All, I have just signed up to this forum, so I hope this hasnt been asked and answered, BUT, I am looking for the CELESTRON MERLIN PAN AND TILT HEAD. I cant find one and am pretty sure that they dont make them now, so what is a replacement. I do time lapse photography and need one or a similar unit so that I can hook it up to my dolly system to track night sky's, and other time-lapse shoots.
Cheers
Al

Sounds like what you want is a Vixen Polarie or iOptron Skytracker.

Hi Al,

You want a Skywatcher Multifunction Mount.

Available in Aus from Borges Imaging in Port Melbourne and Bintel (though you don't get the tripod with the Bintel one I think).

http://www.borge.com.au/sky-watcher-multi-function-mount-p-17234.html

I bought one from Borges earlier in the year, works well with the Stage Zero dolly.

Cheers
Stuart

From your description, perhaps this is what you are looking for: Hague Pan & Tilt Power Head. Shown on top of the page on the following link:

http://www.haguecamerasupports.com/products/pan_and_tilt_power_heads/pan_and_tilt_power_heads.shtml Click on the ad to show more details.

There are two versions available the normal and modified. I have the one of these and it works well. I use it purely for photography. I had seen these before and wanted one, but it took me a few years to track it down and as far as I know, the only place they are now available is from Hague Camera Supports in England. I ordered mine directly from Hague. It fits to any standard tripod and it comes with a hand controller.

Cheers Peter

Hi Allen Bintel still sell them but I don't know if they have any in stock
Are you after Bluetooth Merlin to go with it as I make them !
You will need the adaptor to go between the mx2 and the Merlin telescope head
I also make the Terand Adaptor that interfaces them together the Bluetooth I make is like
the Papywizard do a youtube search.
