Hi to all

Just a small question??

Is it necessary to get your toucam modified, or can it be used as it is and still get good results.

Thanks Leon

Depends on what you want to do with it Leon, but the majority of people use it unmodded for their planetary imaging. Modded is normally for having a go at DSOs and longer exposures for autoguiding.

I wouldn't bother with modifying it, Leon. You don't need to unless you want to tackle DSO's..

And if that's the case (if you have a suitable mount), then there'd be better capture devices that will give you better results.

For solar system imaging, it's fine as is.

When modded they're great for auto guiding, then you can use the Canon 350 for imaging!!!

Depends on your budget :)

Do you have a DSLR? They're the best bet for entry level DSO's.. starting from around $1k.

You can go up in price from there.. the DSO guys can chip in with other options.

ormeade make a webcam called the dsi. its specifically for dso imaging too. not as good as a dslr i think but costs less too.

thanks guys

Yea i do have a DSLR, and i have been using it for Astronomy, i must have mis understood you both.
I thought that there was a web cam better than the Toucam for that type of imaging.

Thanks anyway Leon :D :D
