Hi,

Most cricket fans will feel sad at the passing of this larger than life, colourful England captain and Ch 9 commentator.

I remember him wearing a white motorcycle helmet to the crease (one of the first), whereupon Dennis Lillee hit him on it.

Jeff Thomson used the sandshoe crusher on him a lot in 74-75 because Greig was so tall.

He could be direct on air, often roughing up Bill Lawry (the Phantom!), but that was all showmanship I think.

Passing of an era.

Very, very sad.

A fantastic competitor and a great showman with the Chappels, Richie and Bill. Was the architect of bringing the English team into World Series cricket with Packer. Will be missed.
