For the atrocious weather we've been experiencing this week. I got my Pentax 10mm XW eyepiece last week and my observing chair on Friday night and I have a beaut eyepiece case on its way too...

Oh, and I bought a trolley to carry my scope around too.

Sorry guys :P

Just had a rain & wind storm here in Bundy so I guess you were the culprit huh Shelley? Naughty!!

:( I was wondering what caused those clouds that set in once I'd finished setting up this evening. :(

Someone in Sydney must have dropped their scope off a balcony or something - cos it's clear and the seeing is pretty good too!

All the clear sky is doing is letting me see me how badly the street lights stuff up my northern horizon.
It's cold and windy enough to discourage the mozzies too.

It 2230 hrs local time and the clouds have parted. I have been keeping tabs on the weather pattern over the past week. Even though the days and evenings have been overcast most of the time, we seem to be getting clear skies in the early morning. Perfect for the Geminids.

Managed to get a decent look at Jupiter from my balcony. Tested out my new ES 8.8mm and 6.7mm eyepieces. Pretty happy. :)

Could see Jupiter with a few moons and M45 clearly from the side yard with the binos. M31 is low enough to be lost in the blinding sodium vapour haze.

I got to do more observing with my new delos 8 and 14. I'm now convinced you will need to kill me to make me part with my 10XW and 14 delos. All in all a good night. I was very surprised it cleared up this afternoon.

Yep I had a tear in my eye as I left the house at 10:30pm for the night shift. My next day off is Saturday I'm being dragged to Canberra which would normally be ok but rain is on the forecast.

I turned my goto software on yesterday to do a routine upgrade. It's been 15 days since it's ben turned on, and I believe that last time I turned it on I only observed for 2 hours anyway before the clouds.

Very frustrating weather. Might have to move to Melbourne :) ;)

Yep Sydney was pretty clear and good seeing last night, I got a whole 2 hours in before the dew monster attacked (I can see a trip to Bintel in my very near future). Best I've had in at least a month and a half, very happy! :D

Vic has been clear for three nights and lovely and warm, reasonable seeing last two nights (for a change).

It's good to see the amount of astro stuff coming into Brisbane. It's not good about the constant showers though.... :)

Heehee, sorry guys! :) I'm being punished for it though. New moon this weekend and I'm busy both nights and won't be able to observe :( So no real opportunity for an escape to a dark sky til January!
