the USB A port on the versaplate hub seems to have decided not to work. I assume it is a connection within the housing. I am not at all skilled in determining or repairing this kind of fault.
Advice welcomed.

Send the whole mount back as it's a warranty problem :) Or maybe undo the hex nuts underneath and see if a wire is loose ? That way u can also take a pic and show.

you could always use a separate usb hub.

Will undo the hub to see if it is a simple solution. Disinclined to send the unit back from Hobart over a USB connection. Logistics and hassle probably not worth the effort and time without even if it is cost neutral.
Definitely an option if a repair is improbable or a hassle.

Solved. Inside the housing the wiring isn't straight through ton the port but a slot connection. Obviously this has been pulled out when moving the versaplate around looking for the best balance solutions.

Glad to hear it was an easy fix :)

Fortunately it's fairly rare to have to send an MX back to SB for repair. Most repairs can be done by a technically inclined user with parts sent from SB.

My experience was that SB were very responsive and replacement parts were sent very quickly.

would cost a fortune to send the mount back and forth, plus the risk of damage in transit, then the whole process of polar alignment again.
