This is useful for planetary avi post-processing, to centre the planet in each frame before passing through Registax. The grid displays the centre lines, diagonals and 1/3 points of the frame. Overlay it over the capture window of your favourite capture software to help compose your image symmetrically or by the rule of thirds. Opacity/transparency of the grid is adjustable as well as the size and position of the frame. | Al’s Astronomical Event Timer is a small windows application written by Al Sheehan (IIS: sheeny). AlsTimer records the time the observer presses a button on the screen using the mouse. Routines are included for measuring your Personal Equations (PEs) for both Predictable and Unpredictable Events. Results of the PE measurements are saved following the measured data. Data recorded are: UTC and local time to the millisecond, and the differential time in milliseconds from the first event. PE error corrections are to be made manually afterwards. Measurements can be saved as a text file or just viewed on the screen. Note: time measurements are only as accurate as your PC’s clock, so synchronise the clock before and after measurements to validate their accuracy and estimate any synchronisation errors. | Written by Al Sheehan (IIS: sheeny) AlsAstroClock is a small windows application which will display the time in four formats: Local, Universal (UTC), Solar and Sidereal. Approximate solar and sidereal times can be displayed using your time zone only, or enter your longitude for solar and sidereal time accurate to the second (subject to your PC clock being synchronised to standard time). Double click just inside the windows border to toggle the windows border on/off to assist with night vision. It requires the .NET framework to be installed on your PC. | |
